CATEGORIES

Our three categories give all competitors a pathway to become the complete fitness athlete:


  • Novice -  for every day athletes to test strength, power, endurance grit and entry level skill 
  • Intermediate - for athletes to test their strength, power and endurance grit and skill
  • RX - for complete fitness athletes to test themselves against the very best in Europe - strength, power, endurance grit and advanced skill

NOVICE

The novice category is designed for individuals who have limited experience with the foundational movements and techniques commonly used in The European Championship style workouts. You will not be required to do any RX gymnastics movements.

Movement requirements 

Skill - Minimum Requirements

  • Wall Walks
  • Hanging Knees to chest
  • Jumping Chest to bar (Box Assisted)
  • Single Unders 
  • Box Jump 24/20


Please note that skill movements detailed are minimum requirements that will enable you to complete any given test, and are intended to give a guide as to the technical skills required at each level.


Strength/Power 

DB - 12.5/10

BB Snatch 40/30

BB Clean 50/40

BB STOH 50/40


INTERMEDIATE

Our Intermediate category was created to allow a wider range of athletes the opportunity to take part in our competition and not just sanctioned and CrossFit Games level athletes, we want the whole fitness community taking part in the action.

This category will feature RX movements but with reduced volume and load to suit the needs of the intermediate category. So, if you CAN’T perform ALL of the below movement guidelines yet, then our ‘Intermediate’ category is indeed for you. If you CAN perform all of these, then you should select the ‘RX’ category.

  • Perform 5+ unbroken Muscle Ups (Any variation)
  • Perform 10+ unbroken HSPU (Any variation)
  • Perform 10+ unbroken Thrusters at 60/40kg
  • Perform 10m unbroken handstand walk
  • Perform 60+ unbroken double under’s
  • Perform a 1RM Snatch at 95/60kg

35-39, 40-44, 45+

These categories will include RX movements and follow the same workouts as the RX category but in their own divisions. Each age range may see a variation in weight, time & volume to suits the needs of the competitors in their respective categories.

Athletes must be inside the age group at the start date of the live finals in September 2024.


RX

This category is for athletes who can perform full RX movements. If you CAN’T perform ALL of the below movement guidelines yet, then we recommend competing in our ‘Intermediate’ category, however if you CAN perform all of these guideline below, then you should select the ‘RX’ category:

  • Perform 5+ unbroken muscle ups (any variation)

  • Perform 10+ unbroken HSPU (any variation)

  • Perform 10+ unbroken thrusters at 60/40kg

  • Perform 10m unbroken handstand walk

  • Perform 60+ unbroken double unders

  • Perform a 1RM snatch at 95/60kg

TEENS

Male/Female 14 & 15
Male/Female 16 & 17

  • You must be under the age of 18 at the time of competing. Any 18 year olds are classed as adults and must enter the intermediate or RX categories.
  • All teen athletes must be accompanied by an adult/guardian throughout the competition when performing workouts.

This category will include age related movements with weight/volume to suit the needs of the younger athletes.
