Battle of the Beasts 2015

Bigger, Better & Even More Exciting for 2015!

Battle of the Beasts 2015

Registration is now open for this year’s Battle of the Beasts and excitement is already building for what promises to be one of the best events in the Eurpoean region this year. Previous years have showcased some of the UK’s top talent and been a proving ground for some up and coming athletes. Improving on last year’s Battle, 2015 will offer a larger arena with a 2500 seater capacity in a plush resort-style settings, more qualifying places to meet the increasing demand from across Europe, a new scaled option so everyone can get involved and some amazing prize money to be dished out in the online qualifiers and the finals.

Battle of the Beasts 2015
Already, CrossFit Games athlete Kristin Holte, Belgian powerhouse Carmen Bosmans and Battle of the Beasts 2014 men’s runner up David Shorunke have registered for the qualifiers starting in August. Athletes across the UK and Europe are gearing up to pit themselves against these big names and prove their rightful place as one of the Beasts. As well as drawing in this high level of athletic talent, this year the Battle of the Beasts is staying true to the spirit of our CrossFit community and making it possible for anyone to take part with a scaled option. The scaled option will offer the opportunity for athletes at all levels to get involved in the excitement of this competition, have fun and bring out their inner Beast. Nothing pushes us and improves us quite like competition, and it’s expected that this year’s qualifiers will be challenging and inspiring no matter what level you’re at athletically.

Battle of the Beasts 2015
Finals will be held on 25th October at the luxury Crowne Plaza Resort, Five Lakes, Colchester. Along with a 2500 seat arena, the venue provides showers and locker room facilities for athletes, onsite restaurants and bars, a Starbucks, spa & golf course. The Crowne Plaza offers a large range of accommodation from standard rooms to luxury villas.

Battle of the Beasts 2015
There will be 130 places at the final, with the top 78 male athletes and top 52 female athletes being invited to battle it out in the huge 2500 seater stadium. There is a massive £5000 prize pot up for grabs at the finals, but also top performers in each online qualifier will walk away with £250. Along with the prizes and the opportunity to compete against some of the best, the new scaled option is set to make this year’s qualifiers a great experience for any athlete involved and will run alongside the RX’d qualifiers during August.

Last year’s finals brought us WODs such as a ‘Cindy’/double-under mash up, DT and a tasty little combo of snatch and bar muscle ups. Although this year’s WODs are yet to be revealed, we can be certain that athletes and spectators will be in for a formidable battle. World class athletic talent, big prize money and a stunning location are set to make this one of the most exciting events on the European Crossfit calendar this year.
